Supported file formats
Check upload formats, preview restrictions, file limits and asset permissions.
Reviewed 16 October 2026. Available controls depend on your role, plan and service configuration.
Accepted uploads
Images: PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP and GIF. Vector originals: SVG. Documents: PDF and TXT. Data/style files: JSON and CSS. Fonts: OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2. Motion: MP4 and WebM, plus GIF or JSON where appropriate. Acceptance also depends on valid contents, permissions, plan capacity and the 25 MB per-file limit.
Browser previews and cover images
PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP support browser image previews and image selections for workspace covers, chapter introduction images and logo backgrounds. Other accepted formats are download-only in the current asset-preview service. An extension label instead of a thumbnail is expected for these files and does not necessarily mean upload failed.
SVG and archive restrictions
SVG files are download-only; obvious script content, external links and unsafe markup are rejected. Export a static SVG and keep a separate PNG/JPEG/WebP for previews. ZIP uploads are blocked; upload the individual supported files. RAR, 7z, executables and native design/project formats are not supported.
Recommendations by chapter
Use PDF/TXT and raster examples for Strategy. Use SVG downloads plus raster previews for Logos. Use JSON/CSS/PDF/TXT for palette documentation. Use font files and PDF/TXT for Typography. Use SVG/raster/PDF for Elements and Illustrations; PDF, raster, SVG or JSON for Templates; MP4/WebM/GIF/JSON for Motion; SVG/raster/JSON for Iconography; and supported image, PDF or video exports for Applications.
Permissions and security
Upload only materials you own or are permitted to share. Check font, stock, template, music and illustration licences before giving others access, especially through a public link. File validation is not a guarantee that a file is malware-free, and connected antivirus scanning has not been confirmed as active. Use trusted source files and your organisation’s approved scanning process.
